It is funny to hear the termâ€Lemon†when you’re teaming it up with the word law. We are not here to discuss literature but there is quite a resemblance to why it is called lemon law. A lemon gives you a sour flavor and having a car or a motorcycle or any vehicle for that matter that gives you constant trouble leaves a sour taste in your mouth. It is just not about the repairs but it’s just about the frustration of knowing that your car broke down again. It is funny because we were the ones to invent them but we get paralyzed when they don’t run.
Lemon laws are generally laws that deal with defective vehicles that run on the road. Many people have new vehicles that start giving problem from the first year it self. There are separate laws that deals with such vehicles and they are know as lemon laws. Looking on the other side now, they are also referred to as lemon laws because a lemon is refreshing and brings about change too. Lemon laws do just that. They give you the justice that you require.
Lemon laws entitle you to taking the issue back to the manufacturer so that your vehicle can be checked. How ever there is a certain process for this and it has to be followed for you to get full benefits of these lemon laws. In case your car is still under the company warranty, you can go back to the company and show them that you have repeatedly had the same problem on and off, with the vehicle that you bought from them. For this, you need to have all your paper work in place including all the bills you had to pay for the repairs as a proof. There are many times we don’t take care of the paper work and the manufacturer can get away with that, because it was our fault, and there is a chance he proves that his vehicle has no defect. The other thing is that the moment this enters court it becomes a prolonged event and either side does not benefit from it. So try to settle this outside court with the help of a lawyer who specializes in lemon laws, but above all the advice that I have given you; be aware of what lemon rights are, and how they prevail in your state because they may differ from state to state.
